The project is really a good opportunity for us to know more about a Chinese city (in our case, Hangzhou) and also the Chinese culture in general. Our group members really get along great and we had fun scripting out the video, especially with the misunderstanding part and the slapping scene! :)
I personally am responsible for the video editing, and putting in the subtitle inside the video really made me learn about new words and the sentence structure and grammar. A difficulty in the project would be to find time to meet up with the other group members because we are all so busy, but in the end we all did our best and are really proud with the finished product.
Chinese 2 has always been great fun and this mini-project has made it even more so. :)

Without this project, I believe most of us would still be hi-bye friends or rather, merely classmates who know each other by sight. I am grateful to have such wonderful group mates without which our video and blog would not be a success.
Choosing a topic was initially an uphill task as it was wide and as they say, having too many options is never a good thing. However, one particular topic struck most of us, which was the Birthday Anniversary for Confucius. All of us thought that was special to Hangzhou, and that Confucius was born in Hangzhou. Until I asked my Chinese friends for help in checking our script when he said Confucius was born in Qufu, Shandong. Luckily for us, it is still an event celebrated all over China and Hangzhou has a Confucius temple.
Thus, I have learnt a little more about China's history, Hangzhou - a truly beautiful place I want to travel to, and about China's world famous philosopher whose values have shaped much of the East Asian and diaspora Chinese societies' culture today. I appreciate the opportunity to practice my Chinese, as the video is a good way for us to help each other in pronunciation.
I would like to thank my group mates for the experience and Lin Lao Shi for her tutelage. :)

The project allowed me to explore more about the culture and the lifestyle of the people of China. Their culture originates from a set of living philosophy that have been passed down for thousands of years, and one of the great influencers of their philosophy was Confucius.
Acting out in a video in a new language was not easy for me, however, such was necessary for my learning. As Confucius himself said "Studying without thinking leads to confusion; thinking without studying leads to laziness." I now understand his words that without putting what I have learnt into active thinking, researching and experiencing, it will not be true learning. I am thankful for this great learning opportunity and also for the wonderful groupmates that I had. We are all very proud of our production and hope our audience will enjoy watching it.

The Chinese project was a lot of fun especially when we acted out and shoot the video. Especially the fact that we were acting as if we actually visited some place in China made our acting realistic and interesting. On top of that, I learned new Chinese words and phrases and also about Hangzhou. While researching, I understood why Hangzhou is a popular tourism spot and it provided me a motivation to study Chinese harder so that I could go on a trip to Hangzhou someday.
I believe our group was quite effective in working together. We used facebook and email as our main mode of communication and this enabled quick communication despite everyone was busy. One of the difficulties we faced was when we realized that we used too many new words. But we solved the problem by changing the sentences simpler and also expressing what we want to say in an easier way. For example, rather than using a new word, we tried to describe the situation by using the words we already learned in class. Overall, I am satisfied with what our group has done and enjoyed the project a lot.

This is my second time doing this similar project and I still love it, even though I encountered many problems along the way, as this project has opened many opportunities for me to overcome the obstacles. My responsible is to work on the video audio sound & editing and blogging the project page. The most difficult part was the sound editing part, because it took a lot of time to do it and if I did one mistake then I had to do it over again and again, but at the same time that was the most fun and challenge part .
I have learned so much more then Chinese language and Chinese Culture out of this project, I learned how to make a very interesting video editing and blogging, which I am definitely sure that it has improved my skill.
Also I realized that Team Work is the most important thing, I want to Thanks everyone in the team for putting up their precious time and effort and made the project successful and also I would like to Thanks our dear lecturer, Lin Laoshi, who always guide us and help us with the project.
Lastly, I do not realized how long I've been passionate with the Chinese Language, but I will definitely continue to level 3. The most exciting moment that I gain from this module so far is when uncle and aunty at the Canteen or on the Bus speak to me in Chinese and that I can understand them, and I was like 'Oh my gosh, I understand what they are saying' - The feeling is just awesome !! ^0^/
